Happy Fall

Yes, it is officially fall, and I love it!! The crisp cool nights and the leaves changing to those gorgeous reds, yellows and oranges. I have to admit though, I don't like the fact that winter follows autumn!!! I'm not too crazy about the snow and really cold temperatures! I need to live somewhere that "celebrates" three seasons only!!!

All this talk of fall is to get you in the mood to play along with our challenge this week. Show us your creation using a fall theme! Easy as pie...ooooohhhhh, now I'm hungry for pumpkin pie! My card above used the Fresh Brewed Designs digital stamp Autumn Angel Cake. Because I am still thinking about pie, check out my blog, The Stamper's Touch, for all the details.

I leave you today with one last ramble, a quote by Albert Camus -

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf's a flower.

Enjoy your day!

Happy Fall Y'all

 It's the WEEKEND!!! WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!
The only SAD thing about this weekend is that it is
Crystals last weekend with us as our Guest Designer :(
Crystal, you have been just amazing! I have enjoyed your being our guest and getting to know you more than you could imagine. You are talented and beautiful (inside and out) and I just wanted to let you know. *oh, and  did I mention she is just as sweet as candy?!?!*

If you hopped with our Save the Hooters hop, then you saw this card, but probably did not get a GOOD look at it... so here it is again!
Spicy Pumpkin Latte Rubber Stamp

Don't you just LOVE these fall colors in Spicy Pumpkin Latte! I love the beautiful papers and the ribbon treatment. Gorgeous! Check out Crystals post with this card HERE at scrapcandydesigns and leave her some love :D

as you know over the weeks we have been collecting a little bit of information about Crystal. She so graciously answered my quirky questions and I have smiled reading her answers. I hope you have too and I hope you have gotten to know her a little better.

Here are her last two Q&A's

10-If you were deserted on an island with nothing but stamping supplies, which of your supplies do you have enough of to make yourself an outfit with? ((Would you wear a button ball gown? LOL))
It would totally be paper! And if I could have ribbon too, that would also work! But seriously, have you seen some of the paper dress creations on sites like Etsy & Pinterest? Oh my goodness, they are phenomenal! Besides, if I'm stranded on the beach I can totally make a wicked dress cause I'll have so much time on my hands, and until it gets done I can always wear palm leaves & coconuts...hehehe!!

11- Did you enjoy being FBD's guest designer for September? :)
11. I have absolutely LOVED being an FBD Guest Designer this month!! It has been so much fun! Heather, you are absolutely one of the nicest people in blog land that I've ever met & you have the sweetest DT that have left me the loveliest comments. You are so generous with your product & your stamps are so much fun to play with too. This has been one of my favorite guest spots ever!!

(and here are the rest in case you missed them)

1.How did you find out about Fresh Brewed Designs?
I was browsing challenge blogs & looking for something new, as well as fun, when I stumbled upon FBD. Since then, I've been hooked to all the fun challenges, great inspiration & sweet atmosphere!

2. Do you like coffee? (had to ask;) lol!!!)
I do love coffee! I love it extra sweet with lots of creamer, especially flavored creamers like hazelnut! Mmmmm!

3. What is your favorite flavor - style of coffee beverage (if you do;) lol!)
Hands down, iced coffees! Just adore them...so yummy! But, I also really love me a good cappuccino - especially in the winter months!

4-How long have you been stamping?
I've only been stamping a couple years...maybe three. I got into scrapbooking first and it kind of evolved from there. I was so terrified of cards at first but over the years, they've become much easier!
5-What is your favorite coloring medium?
I love using Prisma pencils, but since my arthritis is getting worse, I find I can't use them as much. So, I am discovering the wonderful world of markers! So far I really like the Prisma markers & am using them lately.
6-What are five craft items you can’t live without?
Oh this is a hard one...really hard! I'm also kind of a practical gal so some of these may seem kind of obvious. :0) I am definitely a hoarder of many things so its hard to narrow it down, but here goes nothing! I would have to say paper cutter/scissors, my beloved paper stash, punches, Tim Holtz distress ink in walnut stain, and my Glue Glider Pro!
7-If you had to choose, what is your favorite FBD Stamp or Image?
Oh my gosh, I have so many fave FBD stamps cause they are all so wonderful! I really love how deeply etched they are & so easy to get a good impression. Right now, I am really in love with "Hello," the new cutie patootie telephone stamp you released, but I also love Pumpkin Spice Latte & Candy Corn Girl!
8-Any tips or techniques you can give fellow stampers
I'm not sure...I'm not the best tipster or technique gal. At least I don't think so! LOL!

9-What is your favorite color combination?
Again, I've so many faves!! It is very hard to choose just one, but I do love turquoise/reds, orange/pinks, & pinks/greens. And of course the fab purple/orange/black/green color combo of Halloween, which is my family's favorite holiday! ;0)

I hope you all have a super duper weekend..
oh.. and
HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!!!

Did you 'Save the hOOters" hop yesterday?

Well, hope that you enjoyed the 'Save the hOOters" hop here on Fresh Brewed Designs yesterday.
Even if you didn't make it to the hop, scroll down to yesterdays post and go check out the beautiful
eye candy that the various DT's created for the hop.
"Save the hOOters" was a blog hop for a wonderful cause.  Check out the post and see if there may
be a "Save the hOOters" stamp in your future!

Heather has out done herself with both the rubber and the digital stamps that support the "Save the hOOters' cause.  Here is a sample of one of the digi stamps available in the 'Save the hOOters' hop.

Remember that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  This card will go to
the ladies that run the mammography unit at the hospital I work at.
It is also a salute to my friends - Marsha, Mary and Sally.  They are all survivors that battled breast cancer with grace and humor and I am proud to call them friends.

Come by my blog, Playing with Paper, for the specifics on my card and please,
get a mammography, do your monthly checks and have your annual check-ups.
Just a a note:  all DP (digi) used in this card were designed by JustYolie for this cause!

Save The Hooters Blog Hop

Good Morning! It is time for our SAVE THE HOOTERS BLOG HOP!

If you are just getting to the hop, you will want to start at the FIRST hop stop with the

I was discussing some designs with some friends. Sheryl (one of our beautiful DT members) had the idea of making an owl for a save the hooters theme. She had my brain just rolling all around that idea, and this is what I came up with. She saw them first and loved them, and so did I, and I hope you will as well. I really like to make others smile. That is exactly what I was going for with these cute and fun images. I also wanted to  keep them modest so that anyone could use them. Another friend of mine brings reminds me to think about things from a Christian standpoint. Would God approve. No one really knows how much I do think about that. EVERY image I create gets set aside until I know it is ok. Some sit longer than others :D  I have been asked to design some things, but when that funny feeling hits me, I know it is not right and I can't create it. I do hope these stamps will be able to not only raise awareness but make many smile when they receive a card or gift and know they are being supported and loved.

If you have already hopped you know that part of your purchase will be donated to Chemo Angels.
(excerpt taken from Carolyn's blog in the hop)
If you are not familiar with Chemo Angels, we encourage you to look them up. Here is a little bit about their amazing program:

Chemo Angels is a volunteer organization dedicated to adding a ray of sunshine to the lives of those undergoing IV chemo treatment. We believe people going through the physical, emotional and mental rigors of chemotherapy deserve some encouragement. Many of our Chemo Angel volunteers are cancer survivors themselves, or people whose lives have been affected by cancer in some way. Our common denominator is a desire to brighten the lives of cancer patients while they are going through this challenging time.

Here is some information on the different types of Angels:
  • Traditional Angels are assigned to a specific patient. They send their patient at least one card or letter and a small, inexpensive gift every week.
  • Card Angels are assigned to a specific patient. They send their patient at least one card or letter every week.
  • Support Angels make regular financial contributions to the Chemo Angels Cancer Support Organization.
  • Prayer Angels are put on a mailing list and notified whenever any of our patients has a special need of prayers. To become a Prayer Angel, send a request to admin@chemoangels.com
They are a wonderful and truly inspiring organization. They provide comfort and support to individuals battling all forms of cancer; and as you can see, they have ways to help in the form of time, cards, prayers...as well as monetary donations. To find out more about how Fresh Brewed Designs will be taking part, read HERE.

Here is a photo of the stamps you will be receiving. This set is a 4"x6" set of cling mounted stamps. Each owl stamp measures to be approx 3"x3". The Save the hOOters sentiment is approx 2.5" long and the stamp out breast cancer sentiment is just under 2" long.

We also have several digital stamps for sale. You can find them all here:
We are currently running a sale. Check out the home page for details. This set is included in the sale. If y ou purchase this set along with two other rubbers stamps you will get a tub of inspirations paint as well as another rubber stamp of choice for free. (the free stamp can not be chosen from the newly released breast cancer stamps or the Girly Girl Fall 2011 collections)

If you purchase the featured BCA stamp set or any of the BCA digital stamps, be sure to be watching for a special link in the tabs under the blog header at Freshly Brewed Challenges.
There will be a special link up challenge just for you starting October 1st. We will allow back linking as long as you are using these images.

Mask It Monday!

Candy Corn Girl Rubber Stamp (NEW RELEASE)

Good Morning!!!
If you know anything about me and my stamping (past to present) you will know that I have always LOVED masking my stamps and making fun scenes or different themes with them. I love paper piecing and playing with them. It is SO much fun!!!
Our Guest Designer from August,  Vanessa, seems to love to do it too... and has made me slow down and look at things a whole different way. This stamp for instance. I NEVER really thought to mask her. Then Vanessa stepped up to the plate with these ROCKIN cards:  Football theme , 3 different themed cards

I added a flower brad to her hair to hide the spider, I added flower soft over the candy corn (so I really did not truly mask this time, but close enough :D)  and voila!!! My DT and friends sent me a box of goodies this past week as a celebration for FBD turning 1 year old. I created this card with several of the goodies in the box. I had a fun pink plastic stencil that I took to my light box and embossed in layers then inked the paper, the fun fabric button, the white button, the sweet ribbon ... just looking at this card makes ME smile. Thank you again ladies!!!

We have had our shop and rubber for a year now! can you believe it? I can't!!! There will be parties and things to follow... be watching and waiting for NOVEMBER. That is our PARTY month!! :) .. and if you have been a customer this past year. . you will not want to miss it..... and that is all I Can tell you for now :D

Anybody for some Football!?

Even a mermaid, umm, I mean even a girl has to have fun!  What could be better than
watching 24 buff guys in tight pants, umm, I mean, 24 professional athletes playing some football?
The Pittsburg Steelers is my husband's favorite team (my second!) so they get the color feature on
my card this week.  In case you missed the post on Wednesday, this weeks challenge is
"Football colors or theme".
When it comes to the Steelers, that means Black, Yellow and Red!

Now, everyone knows that Troy Polamanu is the best football player ever!  And since he
played highschool football right here in little old Oregon.  And since my oldest son actually got to play against him (yeah, they slaughtered us!  LOL)  I hereby dedicated this
Fresh Brewed sweetie to him.   (haha, like he'll ever know)
I used 'Marina, one of a kind' and masked over the pearl/bubble in her hand and cut out
a freeform football to place in her hand.  Both sentiments were computer generated and the
logo was downloaded, printed and cut out.  To find out about how this card
(and those adorable pom-poms) was made, come on by my blog

ALSO.............
Did you know Heather has a big sale going on? With the purchase of every three rubber stamps, you will receive a tub of inspirations paint (color will be Heather's choice) AND one stamp of choice from any other category other than the Girly Girl Fall 2011 for FREE!! Now's the time to get some of the fabulous new stamps that were just released last week!! Also, all orders $35 and over will receive FREE SHIPPING (just use the code fbdfreeship at checkout)!

Candy Corn Girl {hehehe. silly me, she's not scary!}
I created this card by using some scraps of embossed black cardstock my mom had received in a folder a few years ago (it was not a crafting folder, but from a real estate agent or something ) I finally used it! :) I cut the shapes out to fit the corners and inked it with Ink it Up white pigment ink. The BG paper was bazzil solid cardstock. I embossed the lines using my score pal and then inked over it with black. The web is stitched using white and black thread together. I poked holes with a thumbtack and then sewed it on. Next time I will plan it better and draw it out first :). The I added the little brad spider. The door was created with a door frame matt, (the size of an ATC) then a folded piece glued to it to make the door. I added a kickboard to the front of the door, a handdrawn window and a jackolantern brad. the doorknob is simply a gold brad. I inked around the door with the white ink. The inside was framed with black. I used scraps to make the wall and flooring. I had a $1 chandelier stamp from the michaels bin (OLD) that I stamped in the background. I Took my Candy corn girl colored wtih prismacolor markers and pre cut, and gently placed (glued) her inside the door. VOILA! there you have it :D

When getting cards ready for the hop the girls and I chatted often. My friend Vanessa said that she had some cards made with her and was so excited. I sent her a peek of this card and she quickly emailed me back {laughing} because we made nearly the exact same card!!!!

Now prepare yourself for another awesome guest designer post from:

Crystal has yet another beauty of a card to share with us today. But first,  If you missed last weeks go here and if you missed her blog hop card please go here.

Now I am not sure if Crystal knows this or not... but she used one of my ALL TIME Favorite color combinations and one of my favorite stamps that I did not get the chance to use very much this summer!

isn't this BEAUTIFUL?!?!
I adore the white ribbon and pink button!!
 here is a close up:

I have to admit, it still have been mermaid weather here. The days are still hot well into the high 80s and into the 90s. Our mermaids are still happy and playful here.

Be sure to stop by Crystal's blog and leave her some love!
