I LOVE the colors on this card. The deep pinky red outfit

paired with the soft background papers makes the image pop. 

The lace, muted pinks, and ribbons  are extra feminine and very sweet. 

A very well rounded and perk-fect creations, don't you think!

Friendship : Card Feature

Hello!

It's me back again today with a fun card freature. 

This card is an older one, but I really wanted to showcase it here on the challenge blog

I love the beautiful papers she chose, especially the cherries :). 

The image is perfectly shaded. The card has great layering and lovely little flowers

that draw your eyes in to the image and add that extra bit of dimension and femininity.

I think this is a perfectly sweet card to get us ready for summertime, don't you?

Let's take a stroll....

... down memory lane.

 (be prepared for a very chatty and long post of my thoughts and heart pouring out on this page. It will NOT flow. It will NOT make since in some parts. It will NOT be perfectly worded. It is just me typing and thinking and that is just what it has to be.)

About 5 years back Fresh Brewed Designs opened it's doors with an array of 

simple digital stamps then we moved on to rubber a year later. But before that... when the itch to start designing my own stamps was there but I wasn't brave enough to do it... my friend Carolyn was there. She was there before FBD was even barely a thought. Then after the idea escaped my brain and came out of my mouth, she was there to support, brainstorm, guide, encourage and uplift me through EVERY single big and little obstacle that came my way. Hours and hours, days and weeks, months of talking and researching and stressing ... she was there. She helped me through the 'should I give up moments'. She helped me through the other stuff too. The behind the scenes family stuff. I have been homeschooling as well as trying to run a business. That was a little tougher than I expected. On the days I felt like a terrible mom, she was there to remind me I am a human and it is ok to get upset and make mistakes. She has a huge place in my heart and when I think about her I feel it tugging. She is the sister that God gave me outside of my family. She knows the best and worst of me. 

This year I have somehow distanced myself from so many of my friends and family. I have spent much more time in school with the kids and at their after school activities. My husbands work schedule changed this past summer. I felt myself being sucked into a tunnel and had no way out. I turned into a complainer when I did get the chance to talk. I stayed stressed. Then I  lost communication with so many people, especially this wonderful woman I am speaking of right now. 

Everything has taken a backseat and that is not how I want it to be. I wish I could tear myself in two and be able to do all of the things I want  to, need to do. I feel like I have lost a whole year of things I can never get back but at the same time I have made a year full of memories with my children that I will never forget. I just wish I had been able to talk to my friends and share these things with them the way I wanted to.

So this post is dedicated to friendships. The ones that you know are life long. The ones that you can actually FEEL in your heart. The ones that you know God put together like a unique one of a kind puzzle. 

 When I saw on facebook that she had created these GORGEOUS cards I just knew I had to share them with you. I couldn't just share the cards with you though. I had to share a bit of my heart along with them so you can know a bit about the lady behind these AMAZING pieces of card perfection. 

 First up is her card featuring the :

What is not to love about this card. The colors are so soft and sweet. 

I adore the eyelet lace trim. The sweet gingham and floral papers ...

Melts my heart!

Next up is this SWEET and GORGEOUS card featuring

Skinny Minnie's Coffee Break rubber Stamp set

This card has such a clean and simple layout. 

Her image is perfectly and carefully cut out. 

I absolutely Love the soft colors and the sweet satin bow, 

but I have to say that  my most favorite part of this card is the sentiment. 

How amazing is that?

THIS CARD makes me smile all over my face. 

How's that for inspiration?

I think she deserves a standing ovation, don't you?

It's Finally Friday!

Happy Friday!!!

I know that we have all  been looking forward to this weekend. 

The kids have a long weekend, the weather is supposed to be really nice and we will be able to spend some extra time with our family members sharing smiles, having cookouts, and just relaxing.

My weekend is sort of a forced relaxation period spent at home though.

I couldn't leave the house if I wanted to!!!

It is Black Bike Week here and they are expecting over 500,000 bikers... and I live less than a mile from it all. My (policeman) husband works all weekend...

 so we are REALLY looking forward to the weekend's end, lol!!! 

Enough of my chattering...

I have a fun card to share with you. 

Since summer is just around the corner, and I am reallllly SO VERY ready for it,

I decided to break out my summer stamps!

While at AC Moore yesterday I spotted a new product. Well, new to our area. I have seen it before online. They had some spectrum noir markers on sale for just under $8 for a set of 6. I purchased a red, brown and turquoise set to try them out .. and I used a coupon for the crafters companion smooth cardstock.  I can't really give an HONEST review at the moment. I like the colors. They seemed to color well.  My lightest turquoise seemed to be dried out, so I am going to return those for another set. For the price, I think they were worth it.  The cardstock seemed to bleed a little easier than the PTI that I normally use.  Probably because the PTI soaks the color in, and this one is smooth and lets it flow. I will have to use it a few more times to get a feel for it, then I will let you know what I REALLY think ;) 

I colored this image using the spectrum noir browns for her hair and accessories, all of the red, and the turquoise bag. The sand and sky were colored using prismacolor markers and her skin was colored using copics. I added smooch to add  shimmer on the waves, towel, and sunglasses. The 'coke' bottle was created using glossy accents. The yellow was all glammed up by adding yellow stickles.

Life is good

I am reminded on this day how extremely good life really is.  How God has showered us with His blessings.  Even when the outcome is not what we expect, I know it's a journey He has planned for me, for us.  This day {March 4, 2013} was a difficult one. The journey unknown; the destination unknown.  I'm learning to listen to the still voice, trust in Him, not to fall apart when things seem to crumble around me.  I had help leading to this day, I asked my prayer warriors to pray for us and they did.   I am truly thankful for them and for having such a merciful God.  Life is good because God is good.

This is an excerpt of my journal hidden behind the photo mat.  I created the tag a few weeks back for this page and I finally got it done. I used Latte Love and other fun embellies on the tag.  Thanks for stopping by today. :) :)

Good Morning!

It is such a beautiful day today!

The sun is shining, the air is crisp, and the windows are open 

for two days in a row! WOOT WOOT!

 

 I have a busy busy day today. 

My son has his first drum practice / lesson today at a new

studio and my little miss has dance class, so as soon as our day of

school here has come to an end, we will be packing up and heading right out

the door. I will be out from 2:20PM - 7:20PM ...

but I love watching my babies do the things they love. 

Something I love is COFFEE and I wouldn't be

able to get through today without it! LOL!!!
