*My Motto*

Vanessa made me smile when she created this card for us this week. 

I started thinking about the week that had just passed and had to giggle to myself. 

She used the following digital stamps for this adorable and fun card

My schedule has totally flip flopped. 

Summer was relaxing and we had lots of fun. 

Dinners were easily planned and there was no stress...

sigh. 

Seems like such a distant memory, lol!!!

Now we are starting our days with school, cooking, and cleaning.

Then on to the mad rush to pack dance wear, snacks, and, well you name it, to

head out the door for hours of dance and drum lessons 4 days a week.

Dinner is something that I, sadly, most days throw together OR

have to come home at 8 PM to cook. 

It takes a few weeks to get back in the swing of things... we are just hitting

week two, so there is still hope I say!

Lately the only work out  have gotten is from whatever has been listed above. 

I don't know what I would do without my coffee  and chocolate (coffee especially).

If it were a requirement to work out for it, I would REALLY be in shape ;)

Back to School

Tomorrow you're gonna hear a big WOOHOO from my house because everyone will be back to school by then!! My oldest is enjoying being a college man. And I can tell by his voice when he calls me that he is happy (what a relief!!). My youngest and I visited his classroom yesterday. He will have the same teacher and aide from last year but a new speech therapist a two new classmates. I'll just be happy when he's back in the routine of school.

To celebrate, I made a back to school card, using the fabulous image Best Teacher. The twill tape sentiment came in an embellishment pack with a school theme meant for scrapbooking. Part of me thinks I should have added some brads or rhinestones but I felt the papers were busy enough. I'm channeling my inner "clean & simple" goddess for this one!!!

Back to School

Today was the first day I heard the school bus driving past our house. 

The sound of a new school  year.

I'm feeling a little sentimental today, we're moving my son in to college this afternoon. How did that happen already?! The phrase "time flies when you're having fun" I think should be instead "time flies when you have kids!!" I wonder if it will be okay for me to send him some "missing you" cards?!! With my emotional roller coaster in full gear, I felt the need to show a little love by making this card, using the darling Fresh Brewed Designs image It's Raining Love. I had to keep it simple since my mind is all a jumble with so much!!! Best wishes and hugs being thrown out there to all the Moms sending their kids off to school, whether it's preschool or college and every grade in between. My advice I'm giving myself...go have a Starbucks!!!! Hahaha!!!

Summertime

We are in the last days of Summer. 

School is getting ready to start.
 Mornings will come much earlier, the air will start getting 

a little cooler and crisper,  the sounds of coffee pots brewing

 and school buses passing by will fill the air.

hehehe! 

At least it sounds sort of ok.

Who am I kidding?!?

I know I , for one, wouldn't want to be alone on a deserted island..
Well, maybe a few hours wouldn't hurt ;)

I love how Patti added the sentiment where it was partially on the image. 

The colors are really pretty and the waves look sort of muted and 

show movement with the gradient color  scheme and the embossed waves below.

I always seem to have a "helper" in my craft room. Say hello to my kitty Moonstruck. She is my lap cat. She knows I have to pet her first before chasing her off my paper cutter! Yes, that's one stack of paper scraps she's sitting on. I'm embarrassed to say, there's more in an actual bin under my desk.

 And here is the card I was working on at the time of my kitty's visit. I used the rubber stamp Football Girl which also includes the sentiment. Of course I had to make my card in my favorite team's colors, black and gold (Go Steelers!!!). A simple layout but oh so fun to make.

No, I am not the mom on the commercial who is ready for her kids to go back to school

The sound of September for me might as well be the sound of attaching yourself to the side

of a freight train and praying the whole way through to next June! HAHAHA!

It really is not a bad thing. It is a wonderful thing!

Time to Relax

Seeing this makes me want to go on another beach vacation. To lay out on the quiet beach, being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the waves...zzzzzz.....so sorry, I think I really dozed off there for a moment!!! Life is just so full of "stuff" that I often forget to step back and look at all the beauty in it. The bright sunshine and clear blue sky, the sound of the rain against the window, and the birds chirping their sweet song. Yes, I'm feeling sentimental today. My son leaves for college in two weeks, and he is so excited. I'm excited for him as he enters this new chapter in his life. My excitement went into overload as I booked a short trip for him and I over Thanksgiving break...to Disney World!!!!!

Wow, who knew this card could bring out so many emotions!! The Fresh Brewed Designs image is one of three that were just released yesterday!!! This one is called Relax...so appropriately named.
