Oh Christmas Tree * DT post

I know many of us decorate for Christmas just after Thanksgiving and start the mad dash to

finish and send off Christmas cards. Some mojo an be stuck in 'panic limbo' but don't you worry!

Time to Decorate

~~~~ Happy Thanksgiving ~~~~

It is cold here on Thanksgiving for a change.

We are usually in tee shirts and hot and ill cooking and rushing around. lol.

(I don't know about you, but I get ill / mad when I am hot :D )

I can't wait to warm the house up while cooking

and fill the house with wonderful smells.

My kids decorated our tree last night. I NEVER put the tree up until

after Thanksgiving. It feels so weird! However, my husband is not going to be off

of work for a few more days, so I wanted to go ahead and do a little decorating.

I also baked cookies and started a pot of cinnamon, water and orange peels to smell the house

while we decorated. It smelled so nice... until the last batch of cookies burned. :(

They were quickly taken out the door and sat on the deck.

After the kids went to bed I started a new pot simmering.

All of a sudden a horrible smell started flowing around.

It boiled out and was burning. ACK! What in the world.

To the deck it went! HAHAHA!

I NEVER burn anything. Hopefully that will be the last of it and today will go over

smoothly with no bad cooking issues. Just yummy results!

Vanessa must have sensed that, because she has created an ADORABLE

When I first saw her project I was like "WOW!"

Such a feminine, soft, and sweet little treasure.

I really love the extra touch she added to the base of the candle.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Now I don't mean to startle you, but there's only 35 days until Christmas!!!!! Every year I stress out about it, then I take a step back to think about the true meaning of Christmas. It's amazing the calm that comes over me that having 32 different kinds of cookies baked (okay, I'm exaggerating), presents galore all wrapped so beautifully, cards made AND mailed, and the house all decorated aren't that important. Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ is the reason for the season!

For my card I used Christmas Holly, a beautiful image that I had printed off some time ago and never created with her. To make her even more stunning, I thought she could use a sparkly dress. I wanted to keep it simple, adding the holly sprig and red rhinestones as my only embellishment. Quite fun I'd say!

Another Fresh Brewed Flashback

Did you see yesterday's post? It was fun taking a stroll down memory lane seeing all the holiday cards. I decided to do a repeat of a flashback...using the same image from a previous card and create something new with it. Here's my new card, using Cookies and Cocoa. I remember as a kid ALWAYS setting out a plate of cookies for Santa. I would leave a note asking him to share them with the reindeer! And go figure, the plate was always empty come Christmas morning.

Here's my "flashback" card, using the same image. How fun to see the two and how different they are.

Tomorrow is the first Wednesday of the month which means we will be announcing the winner of our month long challenge for October. We'll also have a new challenge for you to join for a chance to win some fabulous Fresh Brewed Designs images!
