Decorations and Singing

Some of my favorite memories of Christmas are looking at the decorations in my home, driving around neighborhoods at night and looking at all of the lights, and seeing the insides / outsides of churches decorated to celebrate the birth of Christ. Even if it is a simple little wreath, it brings a smile to my face and heart. 

And singing! I just adore Christmas songs. The fun ones are cute to listen to and have the kids sing along to in the car, but to hear Oh Holy Night, or Mannheim Steamroller Carol of the Bells, or a simple and sweet tune of Silent Night! My heart leaps with joy and thanks and worship. 

This week has been a hard one hearing about all of the things going on in the world, especially in Newton, Connecticut. I can not get online without crying and seeing photos of these sweet babies and their hurting families. It has been hard to get online much at all. I have spent a lot of extra time with my family. We are not buying  many gifts this year, but spending as much time together as we can. That is what Christmas is about; sharing Love with all of those around us.

I have browsed through the AMAZING Christmas cards showcased 

in this challenge and have a few to feature here for you.

She is so super sweet and talented and she is a NEW CARD MAKER 

If I had an ounce of that talent when I first started I can't imagine what I would be creating today :D

(oh I wish I had the nerve to show you some of my first cards, hahah! you would be saying "wow, those are terrible, I am surprised she even kept trying!!!")

Anyway - she created this card using the I'll Take Mine to Go rubber stamp (small size)

Don't you love those papers, the sweet ribbon and the scalloped edge on the side?

Featured DT Member

Today is one of our beautiful DT members birthdays. 

This lady is so wonderful, talented and so super sweet. 

She has been with me here at FBD since the very beginning.

Here is a little FBD history. I started designing in  2009. I was just learning the tricks of the trade and getting used to drawing again. I opened a digi shop and just had fun with it. Around May 2010 I started the challenge blog and my first design team. By November 2010 I decided to try my hand at designing and selling rubber stamps.  I had a DT call. Only a handful entered (we were still small and not well known then) One of those amazing people was Linda. She has been through all of the hoops, ooopsies, WOWS, excitement, laughter and tears.  I am so grateful for her and really wanted to use this post to highlight a few of her first cards and to tell her

 Happy BIRTHDAY !!

 I love you girl!!
