Just Because

Good Morning!

I am rushing around this morning getting ready to get everyone up and take a two

and a half hour drive to visit my husbands dad in the hospital. He had surgery and is in recovery.

He had a cyst removed but it was in a bad area and they had to cut him instead of do it laparoscopically so

they are predicting that he is going to be there for 3-5 days.

My little miss had her first music recital last night. MAN was she beautiful and MAN was I proud and MAN was I a little freaked out at how old she looked and how well she danced. She is only 10 but time has gone by so quickly... sigh. I can picture turning around and tomorrow she will be headed off to college or something. sigh again. We got home close to 11 PM and removed all the make up, washed hair, ate and all of that. Needless to say she was a moody little thing before she got to bed ;)

Here is a pic of my sweet little love... all made up - hair fixed and ready to sing and dance....

(and I did it so it is my fault)

Today I am sharing a card set I created using every bit of paper

I had from these two 12 x 12 pieces of paper.

I even used the back of the scraps as the solid band of color.

For these next cards I used the NEWEST Fresh Brewed Designs Rubber Stamp

These next cards are ones I created using Papertrey Inc die cuts in which I purchased using a gift card a friend sent me. It was SO hard to choose, but I have always wanted a fence and the clouds are more poofy than the ones I have... so this was my pick. I sortof rushed these, so I can't wait to play with these dies more

Paint me a Strawberry!

Our challenge this week at FBC is to use this photo as an inspiration piece.

I was just drawn to these gorgeous colors...

AND strawberries. We actually went and picked strawberries at our local farm just a week ago.

They were delicious! Esp in a strawberry shortcake. YUMMM

You Scream, I Scream...

We all scream for ice cream!!! I am really wanting warm summer to arrive. After this past weekend and all the media giving out winter storm warnings, 6 - 12" of snow expected yesterday here in the northeast, guess how much snow we got here in Pittsburgh???????? Yep, you're right, NONE!!! Now mind you, I'm not complaining in the least, I just think it's funny. So, in honor of a no-snow day, I made this card using Fresh Brewed Designs digital image Ice Cream Cone. I paired it up with some fun summer paper and a bright yellow gingham ribbon.

Slow Down and Smell the Cupcakes!!

Boy, cupcakes do sound good right now!!!!! One vanilla and one chocolate with yummy butter cream icing...a few sprinkles would be fine...oh my how I do digress!!! But we're talking cupcakes here!!! Guess I know what I'll be doing after my workout tomorrow! Anyway, back to the subject at hand, my card using a Fresh Brewed Designs digi called Sweetheart Cupcakes in a Row. I am still in need of some birthday cards, have lots of 'em to celebrate over the next few months. This card in one hand and a cupcake in the other, sounds perfect!!

Sweet Friendship

The Bible says "A Friend Loveth At All Times..." Proverbs 17:17

That is the verse I thought of when I saw this card our lovely DT member Kenzie created.

She made this card for our current challenge (FRIENDSHIP) here at FBChallenges.

The best friend is the one who loves you no matter what, is there beside you to hold you up when you cant stand, to pray for you, to support you and guide and just love you with their whole heart. I know that God places people like this in our lives. We have special friends and family who we just know are Gods way of smiling down on us. It is his way of letting us know just a TAD of how much love he has for us. I think that if we could FEEL ALL of the love he has for us we would be like love sick puppies all walking around with our heads in the clouds smiling and loving everyone. Now, that would not be so bad, would it. Can you imagine that? What a world that would be! Well .. think about it... that is what we are promised when we get to heaven right? What a glorious day that will be.

I am off to spend some time with my best friend, my mom. The kids are on spring break and they are usually so busy during the week they do not get much time at her house.. so they are super excited!!! :) and I am going to paint! woo hoo!!! I love to paint, did you know that?!?!

Made Espressly for You

As a stamper and card maker, we all suffer from the same ailment, paper hoarding. I made a challenge to myself, I will not buy any designer paper until my birthday...which isn't until the beginning of September!! YIKES!! Believe me, it was tough over the Christmas holidays because there were so many gorgeous papers out there!! So far, I am still holding strong, but I do have my weak moments...like this past weekend. So instead of getting on-line and making a purchase of paper, I printed off some of my favorite digital images, got to coloring and creating some cards. One of them was with this Fresh Brewed Designs image called Latte Love. Actually Heather has created several latte images along the lines of this one, and you can find them HERE under the Coffee heading of digital stamps. I think she needs to draw more of these fun and fabulous cups!!!! So Heather, if you're reading this, hint, hint!!!! Heheheh! She knows I love to tease her!!
