Happy New Year!!!

can you believe it is already {almost} 2012?!?!
I can't!
Wow how this year has flown by!

This is my New Year's themed card. I received the clock chipboard embellies (by making memories) from my mom. I could not find one in the pack that was pointing close to midnight, so let's just say she is getting her party started early! hahah!and she has coffee, of course! So she will be up all night, no problem! ;)

The girly girl on the card is one of our very own
For more detials on this card, please stop by my blog here

All of us at Fresh Brewed Designs want to wish you all a very happy and safe New Years!

Friday Greetings

Didn't get New Years cards done (actually pleased that I got Christmas cards done this year!)
I am, however working on some cards for everyday reasons.  This one is once again using the coffee shop images that Heather so graciously made for me.  I love these store front cards!

This one is already on its' way to its' recipient, hope she enjoys it!

Sorry about the shadow, not quite figuring out how to photograph this with the awning there.

For more info on this card or a tutorial on doing these store fronts, come on over to my blog,
I would love to have you browse around and please, leave a note or two!

Featured Cards: Bring on 2012!!!

Good Morning!
Did everyone have an amazing Christmas?!?
Ours was fun and filled with lots and lots of food, family and laughter.

I spotted a few cards this past week using FBD images that focus on the New Year!
So... just to get you a little more ready and excited about it, here ya go!

The first is from our lovely DT member, Sheryl
for this card, she used the digital stamp: Wanda

Next up is our lovely FBD Fan, Yolie
She used the fbd digital stamp: New Year Lady

Aren't these just too too fun and sassy!
LooOOooOOOVe them!!!
hehehe

Now, you still have time to get in on our month long challenge - Christmas theme
and snag some digis or stamps before the sale goes off on Dec. 31.

Hope you have a beautiful and blessed week - and a very happy and safe New Year!

It's almost Christmas!

This is my last post before Christmas.  I spent today visiting my son in Corvallis and delivering his presents!  He has to work on Christmas eve and day.  (That's how it goes when you have a medical job).  Oour oldest son lives in Oklahoma and we will be speaking with him and mailed him his gifts last week.  DH and I will be having a quiet morning and Christmas dinner on our own.

This is the last Christmas card that I made this year.  I used Heaather's "wonky tree" digi stamp.  Just love this little image.  By itself or as a background, it really knows how to hold its own!

Don't forget to play in our December challenge 'Christmas'!
Come by my blog, Playing with Paper, again and check out the specs on this card and all the other wonderful projects that I have done using Fresh Brewed Designs images.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Fun in the Sun or Snow?

We have been talking about weather here at FBD, so I thought I would continue with the theme.
Some of us are experiencing warmer weather than usual for Christmas time, and some of us are getting snow already. This post is for all of you

First off, Vanessa captured the best part of the wintery cold with this DARLING little snow globe using the digital stamp: We Can Build a Snowman
What a fun and adorable idea! As adults we think of the icky parts of snow.. like the not being able to go anywhere, power outage possibilities, cold icky wet, shoveling and all of the other stuff that comes with it. Kids.. well, kids see it as magic. The beautiful sparkly white blanket that covers the ground. So pretty you don't want to walk through it. They see snowmen, angels, dancing snow fairies falling to the ground, sledding ... all of the magic that comes with it.

Now, where I am, it has been just the opposite. My kids would LOVE to see snow right now, however, the closest thing they will see to a snowman is.. a sandman!
This card was created using the Fresh Brewed Designs rubber stamps: Beach Bums and Palm Tree
I masked our lovely lady off, stamped the tree behind her and hand drew the rest of the sand / ocean scene. It may not be bikini weather, but it is pretty darn close!
So, whatever weather you are having wherever you are, enjoy it to the best of your ability and have a beautiful Christmas with your family and friends.

Warm Hugs and Challenge Reminder

Good Morning.
The weather has been so weird here. One day it is cold and the next it is in the 70s. It looks like we will have a warm Christmas again this year reaching near 70 degrees.. but it is supposed to be rainy :(. We can't have it all, can we, lol!?! I won't complain. I can say that it does not FEEL like Christmas without the crisp cold wintery air. So whether it is freezing cold or nice and warm where you are, I do hope you have a very lovely and blessed Christmas with your family and friends.

As for Cutie Pie, She is happy to be in the chilly weather.
She loves ice skating and playing in the snow!
I created this card using the Fresh Brewed Rubber STamp

I paired her with a pastel pink and blue combo. I tried to add a little warmth by using felt die cut embellishments and a little more sparkle by adding the glitter coated snowflake brad.

We have several digital stamp categories that are on sale until the end of the month,
so stop by the shop and get yours before the sale is off.

The Night Before Christmas

Well it may not be the night before Christmas, but it is the Tuesday before Christmas!!!!! I still need more time to get ready...but I guess I'm not gonna get it!! Check out my card using the Fresh Brewed Designs digital Night Owl. The instant I saw him the poem "The Night Before Christmas" came to mind...

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;

And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Wishing you and your family the Merriest Christmas and nothing but the best in the New Year.

Have you been good?

I have been so very busy this week!  Besides working an extra 12 hour shift (on nights no less), I spent an entire day making Christmas pita with a dear friend.  It actually takes 3 days for it to be done but the labor intensive stuff is that first day.  Then it was to a neighbors house for fun, food, drink and cards.  Love playing cards with the Gardners and so happy that they let me join in on their family fun!

I do have one card that I haven't posted yet.  Since I didn't get my stuff together for my Friday post (it truly was frantic!)  I decided to put it together today.  Only just now got it together.

Used three wonderful images and a sentiment, all from Heather here at Fresh Brewed Designs.  Can you believe all the wonderful images and sentiments that Heather shared with everyone last week!  They really rocked the blog!

and inside

Everything used was from my stash.
The images were printed on Neenah Solar White and colored with copics.
The sentiment is die cut and framed with Nestibilities dies.
Love that star covered DP but have no idea who made it.
There is glossy accents on the tree ornaments.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week leading up to Christmas next Sunday!

Come on by my blog, Playing with Paper again, to check out this card and all the other things that I have been doing.  Would love to hear from you!

Happy Saturday!

Hi everyone. If you are like me, you are probably in a mad rush today getting the last minute Christmas goodies you need for your kids, parties and so on. We are getting ready to fly out the door for a quick trip before we pick our kids up from their grandparents house. I shared a card on my blog last week, but wanted to share it here with you as well.

I created a fun scene of a Christmas room using different card stocks, the mirror is foil and cut with a nestabilities die cut. The layered leaves are from a Martha Stewart punch and the glitter is all credited to stickles. :) Now all she needs are her guests to arrive. I sure hope they love coffee!!!

I used the Fresh Brewed Designs digital stamp: My Christmas Tree
 and the Fresh Brewed Designs rubber stamp: Caution: Contents are Hot (girl)
for this card.
Thank you for stopping by today!
Have a safe and lovely weekend!

we,, I chose the most important word in Christmas and chose our number that way
CHRIST. He is the ultimate gift and I do not want to do anything to take away from that. This holiday is about Him, every day should be about him and  how he came and lived a holy life, taught others, healed, helped, died and did it all just because he loves us so much. I don't know about you, but that type of love is so unexplainable. It makes me feel wonderful, but gives me chills all at the same time.

So ... that being said, there will be 6 winners this month :)

Our beautiful DT has created several cards to share with you today, many using our 12 Sentimental Days of Christmas image #3. If you are asking what this is... I will tell you really quickly. We are hosting an extended Mocha Manic Monday this month. We are giving a sentiment and an occasional digi over the next 12 (well now 9) days. Stop by the shop for yours!
